Dell Wasabi PZ310 is a ultra-mobile printer promises to produce 2- x 3-inch prints in under a minute, and users with Bluetooth-enabled handsets can send over images for printing with just a few button mashes. Wasabi is designed for perfect travel companion for capturing and sharing memories with instant wallet-size photos. This printer allows users to print a photos from digital camera that support PictBridge over USB or Bluetooth connectivity. The sub-7 ounce device measures in at 4.8- x 2.8- x 0.9-inches, and it'll be made available in black, pink and blue hues. The middling minutiae is all posted up after the break, and those eager to get their paws on one will certainly appreciate the immediate availability and the $99 promotional price.

Dell Wasabi is Dell's first product in its Zink series whereas it is the 4th product available for inkless prints which uses the Zink technology. The special type of photo paper developed by Zink has been embedded with heat-activated colored dye crystals. The colours are then activated by heating the surface to create images in less than a minute. The paper comes with an adhesive backing so that the images can be used to create stickers and point of sale material. Instead of developing its own machines, Zink allows licensing of its technology to be used in already existing devices.

Zink technology doesn’t require the use of ink cartridges at all, instead, you use a special kind of paper that goes through the Wasabi, and it will come out on the other side as a full color photo. Hopefully Zink technology will catch on so that landfills have one less problem to worry about, although I do hope that the special print paper it uses won’t be too expensive in the long run.
