After CCD technology (Charge Coupling Device) and CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductors) show his performance as a light sensor on a digital camera, now present as an alternative Foveon sensor light.

View from the architecture and how it works, Foveon exactly sengan conventional film based seluloid. Light sensor current consists of three layers (layer) that will catch the signal from the color of light based on wavelength.

One of the camera manufacturers who already use Foveon is Sigma, Foveon and Sigma will continuously evolve and improve the X3 sensor technology. The Sigma SD10 uses the latest version of Foveon's 10.2 Mp (R+G+B) direct image sensor, the Foveon X3 Pro 10M.

Sigma uses Foveon, not Olympus. Also, Sigma recently bought Foveon.
